Who We Are
The Charmettes, Incorporated is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to improving the quality of life within our communities through advocacy, education, service and support for cancer research.
The Charmettes, Inc. was established June 17, 1951, in West Palm Beach, Florida by founding members Gwendolyn Baker Rodgers and Frankie Drayton Thomas. The Atlanta Metropolitan Chapter was installed in May 2013. Today, The Charmettes, Inc. is 20 chapters strong nationally.
What We Do

— We Educate
We are dedicated advocates for cancer education and awareness. We work to inform and uplift our community through various initiatives, workshops and events. We actively contribute to educating the public about the realities of cancer, preventive measures, and the importance of early detection. Our commitment extends beyond information dissemination, as we strive to create an environment where individuals are empowered with knowledge and resources to navigate the challenges posed by cancer.

We exemplify our unwavering commitment to the community well-being by actively engaging in volunteering at cancer lodges and generously donating to women’s shelters. Through our dedicated efforts, we not only provide crucial support to those battling cancer but also extend a helping hand to women in need, fostering a culture of compassion and empowerment within the local community.

— We Raise & Donate
In support of our national project, the Atlanta Metropolitan Charmettes proudly champion the fight against cancer by hosting an annual event dedicated to raising funds to donate to cancer research. We have not only raised awareness but has also proven immensely successful in fundraising efforts. To date, our organization collectively has contributed close to $1 million towards this noble cause.
